The area bounded by Selegie Road and Waterloo Streets has been home to a diverse range of communities. Take a walk with us around the locality to uncover its rich history, and the stories of its communities, that may be discovered through an exploration of its built heritage.
Part of Currents Above Ground, a series of activations picking up the conversation about the role of independent art spaces in civil society, in the context of its own unknown future of permanency in the neighbourhood.

Event Advisory

• This is an in-person walking tour and is a rain-or-shine experience.

• The walking tour will start at 10.00AM—we seek your help to be punctual and to arrive at the meeting point at least 10mins in advance to faciliate registration, so that the tour can start promptly.

• Assistive Listening Devices will be provided for the walking tour to enable the best experience for everyone.

• Participants are advised to come in a comfortable attire and footwear, and to bring an umbrella in case of inclement weather.

• Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own water/fluids for hydration. Limited amount of complimentary bottled water will be available onsite.

• Limited capacity. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
