Currents Above Ground is a series of activations presented by DECK at 120A Prinsep Street, picking up the conversation about the role of independent art spaces in civil society, in the context of its own unknown future of permanency in the neighbourhood. Anchoring it in the immediate locale, we traverse across the memories and players in the neighbourhood, to speculate what a permanent platform could be like for the neighbourhood and the arts community.
Stretching across panel conversations, artistic interventions, live Photo-dialogues, and neighbourhood walks, we encourage audiences to consider the ideas of locality, community and our connection to the arts.
