Archipelago: Paradise Revisit presents a contemporary revisit to strangely familiar sights and conditions situated within Southeast Asia. Loosely based on a cluster of islands with reference to their geographical traits, the exploration extends across space and time, exploring man’s pursuit of paradise and the realisation that true paradises are those we have lost.
The journey depicts a series of encounters centered on the human quest for utopia, the societal flux in the name of development, disruptions from natural calamities and acts of man, and the perpetual yearning to ascertain one’s belonging and identity. Winding through the islands, the persistent currents of personal anecdotes, diaspora, and colonial past act as invisible forces that continue to shape these paradises.
